PostersAlan’s art posters combine his striking photographs, paintings and graphic images with his sense of design and understanding of the importance of text. His industrial design course at RMIT in the late 1960s introduced him to the best design from the UK and Europe - including the superb graphic art from Poland. His experience as a graphic designer, and later as a corporate designer and publisher, has given him deep insight into the power of communication through image and text. Alan has created posters for his recent exhibitions, which feature paintings, drawings, photographs, collages and book designs. These are bold and often dramatic works, but his range includes the playful and satirical. The travel posters capture the essence of travel experience, from the elegance of Paris to the mysteries of Rome and the vitality of Sicily.
